LEGO's 1 × 7 gear rack 87761: a 7-stud thick beam with seven module-1 rack teeth on a 3.2 mm pitch along its middle, a cross axle hole either side of them and a pin hole through each rounded end. A Technic gear set over the teeth couples to it, so turning the gear slides the rack: a car's steering.
