A through-hole quartz crystal in a metal can on two leads 4.88 mm apart that splay to reach whichever holes it is plugged into: the low HC-49/S and HC-49/4H, the tall HC-49/U and its solder-sealed twin the HC-18/U, and the HC-50/U plug-in on stiff 1 mm pins. Its frequency is printed on the can as crystals are marked (16.000 unless you set another): on top of an HC-49, across the broad side of an HC-18/U or HC-50/U.
