A GT2 timing belt (2 mm pitch) wrapped round two pulleys: the distance between their centres and each one's pitch diameter (a toothed pulley's teeth × 2 / π, a plain idler's outside diameter plus 2) set its path, and a gap cut in the lower run leaves the two ends a carriage clamps. Drawn as its smooth back, 0.63 mm thick, without the teeth.
