Custom Cruiser (LEGO Technic 8208)

Description

LEGO Technic set 8208, the Custom Cruiser, a chopper motorbike from 1998, built in ReDo from LEGO Technic parts by their part numbers: 53 pieces, each one the real part in its real colour, every pin and axle joined into the holes it goes through as the set is built.

## Where it comes from

Each piece is placed where the LDraw community's model of the set puts it: *8208 - Custom Cruiser* by Jaco van der Molen, from LDraw's Official Model Repository, redistributable under CCAL 2.0 (CC BY 2.0). The parts are ReDo's own parametric LEGO parts, not LEGO's CAD.

## What is different from the box

- Six axle connectors (32039) are built as LEGO's current reinforced mould, 42135, and the two short pins (2780) as theirs, 61332; the long black pin (6558) is built as 42924 and painted black as the set has it, a colour LEGO's catalogue does not list for it.
- The model draws the set in the bluish greys LEGO brought in in 2004; the cams, toggle joints and bushes here are the old Light Gray the 1998 set has.
- The model paints the green pieces Bright Green: the two thin 1 × 6 beams, the six thin 3 × 0.5 beams (6632) and the double-hole connector (32013). The set's are Green, and so are they here.
- The model sets both wheels 0.4 mm beside their axles; here they sit on them.
- The parts leave out what does not change how they fit: the ribs in a rim's web, the sculpted tread of the tyres, the hollows under a beam.
