Description

LEGO Architecture set 21013, Big Ben in London, built in ReDo from LEGO System parts by their part numbers: 346 pieces, each one the real part in its real colour, studs clicked into the pieces above as the set is built.


## Where it comes from


Each piece is placed where the LDraw community's model of the set puts it: *21013 - Big Ben* by Greg Teft [gregteft], from LDraw's Official Model Repository, redistributable under CCAL 2.0 (CC BY 2.0). The parts are ReDo's own parametric LEGO parts, not LEGO's CAD.


## What is different from the box


- The four clock faces are plain white 2 × 2 round tiles, and the two printed 1 × 8 name tiles plain black ones: ReDo's parts carry no prints.
- Older moulds are built as their current ones, which have the same outside: the 16 jumper plates (3794b) as 15573, the 2 × 2 round tiles (4150) as 14769 and the four roof ridges (3044b) as 3044c.
- One dark grey 1 × 2 tile hung on the side of a brick with studs on four sides is lifted 0.4 mm off the round brick beside it, which ReDo's slightly taller studs would otherwise touch. It is held by no stud, so it lifts off.
- The parts leave out what does not change how they fit: the groove along a tile's bottom edge, the ridges inside a brick's walls, the hollow in a stud's top.


## Try it


Take the tower apart from the top: the spire is four 75° slopes round a 2 × 2, and the clock faces hang on bricks with studs on their sides. Select any piece to see its part number, or change its colour.
