ReDo Dragster

Description

A dragster built only from ReDo parts: a ReDo Wheel Drive at the back, a 16340 battery beside its motor wired straight to it, and two free wheels at the end of a long nose, all on one plate. It drives off the moment the cell goes in.

## How it is built

- **The chassis** is a 12 × 2 Plate. Everything stands on it, and every screw goes up through it from below, countersunk flush with its underside.
- **The rear axle** is a ReDo Wheel Drive: a micro gearmotor in its printed case turning both rear wheels through bevel gears. Its case is held to the plate by four M3 × 6 screws.
- **The battery** is the 16340 Battery Module, standing on the plate just in front of the motor case. The two cases are the same height, and the battery case is held by four M3 × 5 screws.
- **The front axle** is a 1 × 2 Block at the front of the plate, held by two M3 × 5 screws. Each front wheel is a Wheel Rim without its set screw, wearing a LEGO 21 × 12 tyre. It turns free on an M3 × 20 screw that passes through the rim and a 4 mm spacer into the Block's cross hole.
- **The wiring** is two hookup wires and no switch, running from the cell's + and − to the motor's two tabs.

## Build it

1. Build the Wheel Drive and the battery module.
2. Screw the drive's case, the battery case and the Block onto the plate from below.
3. Fit each front wheel: tyre on rim, then rim and spacer onto the Block on its screw.
4. Solder the two wires to the motor's tabs and run them into the battery's contact holes. If it drives backwards, swap the two wires on the motor.

Every screw, gear, wheel and wire is joined the way the editor joins them, so its parts list is the shopping list. An on/off switch between the battery's + and the motor is the next step.
