Brick House with Garden Terrace

Description

A small brick house with a stepped red roof and a raised garden terrace, built only from LEGO System bricks, plates and tiles. It is a showcase for the instruction book: the walls are built in place on the baseplate, then the roof and the terrace are each built on the table and put on whole.

## How it is built

- **The walls** stand on a 16 × 24 baseplate: ten courses of 1-stud bricks with a front door, windows on every side, a balcony door and a partition wall inside. A brick with two studs on its side sits in the east wall.
- **The roof** rests on the top course by four corner plates only, so it is lifted off in one piece. An eave ring, six stepped layers of plates and a chimney are built on top of them.
- **The garden terrace** hangs on that side-stud brick by a bracket and is slid on from the side. A two-layer deck of plates carries a fence, a hedge, flower beds, a table and stools.

## Build it

1. Build the walls on the baseplate, course by course.
2. Build the terrace on the table and slide it onto the two side studs of the east wall.
3. Build the roof on the table and lower it onto the four corner posts.
