LEGO's 2 x 2 plate with two pin holes, 2817, as LDraw draws it: four studs on top, and underneath a boss of radius 4 running its length under the middle join, its axis 0.8 mm below the plate, split across the middle by a 1.6 mm slot into two Technic pin holes, each sunk at its outer end, so a Technic pin joins it from either side. The boss hangs below the plate, so it is pinned rather than stacked on studs.
