LEGO's Constraction ball socket read off LDraw: a cup for the 10.25 mm ball between two ears, two modules wide, its rim relieved where the ball stands out of the sides. On the 2 x 3 Technic axle connector an axle hole crosses it a module below the ball and a round hub bored for an axle a module below that: closed sides wrap the ball in a solid cup, open sides are the 1999 mould with ringed ears tapering to 14.4 mm and windows onto the axle hole, open lower holes have ringed ears the full width slotted down to the axle hole, squared ends taper the ringed ears and square off their tops. It also stands off the side of a 2 x 2 brick bored for an axle, wide, reinforced or narrow, and faces out of each end of a 2 x 5 or 2 x 7 frame of axle and pin holes. A Technic Ball Joint snaps in centred and held fast.
