SparkFun's open holder for four AA cells side by side in series, a spring at one end of each bay and a contact at the other, with two holes through its floor. A Cylindrical Battery's body seats in each bay negative end on the spring. The red and black leads are cut where they leave the end wall, declared there as the positive and negative terminals.
