A studded plate at a third of a brick, or a baseplate — 1.5 mm with a flat bottom and no tubes, which is what the real one is. A plate an odd number of studs wide can carry studs down its middle row only, smooth either side of them, as LEGO's 3 x 4 with 1 x 4 centre studs does. A plate can also stand two plates tall, and its studs be open, bored through its top so a bar passes, as LEGO's 86996.
